Henk Heidekamp
Managing Director
Henk Heidekamp has a master degree in Toxicology and Nutrition from the Open University of The Netherlands, located in Heerlen. In his career he gained a vast experience working in laboratory environment. Just before joining the ERIBA as its Managing Director in Spring 2010, Henk had similar duties at the department of Genetics of UMCG. At ERIBA, Henk is responsible for a vast and broad range of activities that go from financial and human resource management to the supervision of the daily activities of the institute.
Helena Rico
Research and Education Officer
Helena Rico joined ERIBA in Spring 2012. She holds a University degree in International Relations. Before moving to the Netherlands, Helena was the Head of the Communication and Public Relations Office at Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon). At ERIBA, she is now responsible for assisting scientists with research proposals and the implementation of projects. Helena is also accountable for international affairs and communications on international level.
Catarina Rodrigues
Catarina Rodrigues joined ERIBA in February 2013. Her task is to assist scientists and other research personnel in the drafting, editing, and management of grant proposals. Before joining ERIBA, she was a researcher in an EU- FP6 research project on Soft-Tissue Engineering for Congenital Birth Defects in Children. In 2012, she obtained a PhD degree in Bio-Medical Ethics at the University of Groningen with a thesis entitled: “Who’s the patient? Ethics in and around maternal-fetal surgery.”
Craig Grove
Technical Transfer Officer
Craig Grove joined ERIBA in September 2013. His primary role is to connect science with industry and further enhance the research and development of the institute. He is directly involved with Intellectual Property (IP), valorisation, patent applications and supporting start-ups. Craig has a background in marine science and obtained his PhD at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research. His previous research focused on coral reef ecosystems and climatology.
Klaas Martens
Financial Officer
Klaas Martens joined the ERIBA management team in January 2014. His prime task is monitoring project and department finances in close collaboration with the managing director, research officers and principal investigators. With a background in nursing and oncological data management he also works for the department of Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis since 2009 as project coordinator for scientific research projects.
